Victory secures FIA Academy seat after hard-fought season

Red Star Raceway, South Africa — The 2025 South African National ROK Karting Championship in the OKJ class delivered a season of high-quality racing, with Jack Moore rising to the top to claim the national title. Moore’s consistency across all four rounds earned him 421 points, securing the championship and with it the prestigious prize of a place at the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, where he will represent South Africa on the world stage.

Moore was pushed hard throughout the season, particularly by Reagile Mailula, who finished runner-up on 395 points after a string of podium performances. Aleksandar Praizovic showcased both pace and resilience to secure third overall on 368 points, with Zuan Breytenbach close behind in fourth on 336.

The depth of the field was further underlined by the performances of Aashay Nagura (277 points) and Jordan Klaasen (276), who rounded out the top six after a season of steady progress. Kayo Cera (219) and Chase Haskins (193) also impressed with strong drives at key rounds, while Mattao Mason added a highlight with his victory at the National Final, finishing the year on 140 points.

The OKJ class once again proved its reputation as a critical proving ground for young drivers aspiring to international competition. The battles were close, the margins fine, and the talent on display a clear signal of South Africa’s strength in the FIA-aligned junior karting pathway.

With Moore crowned champion and preparing for the FIA Academy, the 2025 OKJ season will be remembered for its competitive edge and the emergence of drivers ready to carry the South African flag abroad.
