FIA Global Karting Plan in action

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has reported significant progress in its Global Karting Plan (GKP), introduced during the December 2024 General Assemblies. This initiative aims to broaden participation in karting and has already led to a projected 50% increase in drivers enrolled in National Karting Rankings worldwide compared to 2024 .FIA

Key Developments in the Global Karting Plan

  • Enhanced Participation: The National Karting Ranking system, launched in 2023, is expected to register over 1,500 drivers in 2025, up from 1,000 in 2024. This growth is attributed to the introduction of FIA President’s Medals and proactive engagement with National Sporting Authorities (ASNs)
  • Global Outreach: The FIA’s Karting Department, in collaboration with the Sport Club Development Department, has engaged with 59 ASNs across various regions, including the Americas, MENA, Asia-Pacific, Africa, South America, and Europe. This outreach has fostered increased interest and participation in karting activities
  • Future Initiatives: Plans are underway to introduce the GKP World Cup in 2025 and Continental Championships in 2026. Additionally, the establishment of Karting Excellence Centres and the launch of the FIA scholarship prize fund aim to support talented drivers who may lack the resources to compete internationally .FIA
  • Recognition and Incentives: ASNs adopting the National Karting Ranking system are eligible to receive up to three FIA President’s Medals, acknowledging their commitment to developing grassroots motorsport .FIA+2Speedcafe.com+2FIA+2
